12 days: The Enchanted Candleabration

The Enchanted Candleabration was one of the several Castle Lighting Ceremonies. It was a Christmas make-over of the 15th Anniversary Candleabration show during which the 15 candles on the Castle towers were lit by Mickey Mouse. For the Christmas Season, the ice lights were lit by Mickey as well, along with the Disney Princesses, who were introduced into the show with the song “One Man’s Dream” from Tokyo Disney Resort.

12 days: Le Noël de Mickey (1992-2006)

Le Noël de Mickey was Disneyland Paris’ longest running seasonal show, performing every Christmas season from 1992 to 2006 in Fantasy Festival Stage.

The show told the story of Mickey and Minnie’s Christmas dreams. It featured the Country Bears, toys that come to life and Santa Goofy. Each show ended with a blast of “snow” in the theatre.

The style of the sets was designed in a 2D pop-art inspired way with references to the classic design of Mickey Mouse.

The show was eventually replaced for a few seasons by Winnie the Pooh and his Friends Too.

12 days: Mickey’s Winter Wonderland

Mickey’s Winter Wonderland was a long running show in Frontierland during the Christmas Season since 1998. It last running season was that of 2011.

The show featured lots of country-style sing, dance and clap-along songs like “Let it snow”, “Baby, it’s cold outside” and “Winter Wonderland”. Mickey and friends, as well as the stars from The Country Bear Jamboree were the leading characters of the show.

There’s a photo album in the gallery with lots more photos here.

12 days: Lights of Winter (1993-2004)

In our sixth “12 Days of Christmas” post, we go back in time to the Lights of Winter.

The Lights of Winter were a series of arches on Main Street, U.S.A. that were first introduced for the Christmas Season of 1993. They would light up as part of the different Tree Lightning Ceremonies that took place over the years. They were eventually replaced in 2005 by the Princess Chandeliers.

Interesting fact: Epcot got similar Lights of Winter in 1994, one year after Disneyland Paris.

12 days: The Princess Chandeliers (2005-2011)

In this fifth blog post in the 12 Days of Christmas series, we’ll remember the Princess Chandeliers that stood on Main Street, U.S.A. for several years.

In 2005 the chandeliers replaced the Lights of Winter arches that stood on Main Street since 1993. They arrived one year after the ice LED lights were introduced on Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant. They played a big part in the Tree Lightning Ceremony, most notably during the “Ring the bells” song during which they were animated.

The chandeliers were once again replaced in 2012 by a more classic alternative: the garlands of Main Street, U.S.A.
