This set piece located on Piazza Sergio Leone is inspired by the store front as seen in the famous French movie Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (The Umbrellas of Cherboug). It’s one of few references to European cinema in Walt Disney Studios Park. The movie is also referenced in a key scene in Cinémagique.
In front of the set, a lantern pole with an umbrella fixed against it will rain when guests pose under it for a picture. A similar photo location exists at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, but is themed after the classic movie Singin’ in the Rain.
The set was sometimes used for streetmosphere performances, but these have vanished from the park over the years.
Trivia
Don’t bother looking for a button, the rain is activated by a motion sensor.
